Community Dinners

SWAG arranges a Community Dinner every month. In the cooler months of the year they are held at the Strathewen Public Hall and at the Recreation Reserve when the weather warms up. The dinners offer varied menu’s including BBQ’s, and Curry and Pizza Nights.

All  main meals, dessert and soft drink is provided. You will need to BYO alcohol. Come along – the entire Strathewen community is welcome! Upcoming Community Dinners are advertised on the seasonal calendar and the Upcoming Events page.

Girl’s Night Out

On September 22nd the girl’s of Strathewen were treated to a night out at Hildebrand Ridge Organic Vineyard in Cottlesbridge. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful views at the venue and settled in to a glass of wine, tea and coffee and a selection of finger food. Everyone had a great night!

Dinner and Defibrillator Information Session August 2017

During the August community dinner, SWAG arranged for Mark from KMR Safety First to come along and conduct a defibrillator information session. Dinner was at 6.30pm and training commenced at 7.30pm. Attendees were taught how to correctly use a defibrillator and perform CPR. There are four defibrillators located in Strathewen. Locations are the Recreation Reserve Pavilion, the Strathewen Hall, the Strathewen P.S. and the CFA shed which is opposite the school.
Remember there is a 60% better chance for survival if a defibrillator is used.

Pizza and Movie Night 7th July 2017

SWAG arranged a Pizza and Movie Night for the Community in July. A tasty selection of pizza’s were delivered to the Public Hall along with desserts and cakes. The kids enjoyed watching the movie Penguins of Madagascar whilst munching down on some popcorn and snowballs.

Guys Night Out 17th March 2017

The guys of Strathewen all caught up at the annual Guys Night Out – this time at Panton Hill Pub. The boys were treated to a pub meal and thanks to the Strathewen Bushfire Relief Trust.
